Lucie Dehli is a French composer, singer, producer and visual artist. She started her musical career in an experimental music duet with Stephan Ink in 1989 under the name Vicious Circle. The french team became one of the very rare bands who entered the UK territory with their sound. The legendary English label SomeBizarre (Soft cell, The The, Einsturzende Neubauten…) took interest to Vicious Circle and released their sole album Barbed Wire Slides. Often considered as ambient or shoegaze this album is in fact the missing link between the 80’s cold wave and the industrial 90’s, the common ancestor to Portishead et The Moon Lay Hidden Beneath A Cloud… The album was reedited in 2009 by the French Label Infrastition. Lucie Dehli and Stephan Ink came back later to France to sign with Les Disques du Soleil et de l’Acier label for two albums (Bike Ride, Life Goes on Again) under the name of View, featuring the French percussionist Franck Vaillant. The voice of Lucie Dehli brought View to the German label Hyperium compilation called Heavenly Voices that spread “Bikeride” all over the world. Several years ago Lucie decided to settle in Belgium, in Liège. She took part in the experimental collective project of Jean Marie Mathoul –48 Cameras– (featuring David Coulter, Michael Gira, Rodolphe Burger..).
In 2006 she started Elephant Leaf, still with Stephan Ink, a nuanced evolution of their previous works, with whom she released two more albums : Emotional Power (2006) and The Taste of Salt (2010). For a complete discography please visit Bandcamp.
Apart from all that, Lucie Dehli gave her voice, compositions and energy to different projects, among them the Norvegian Jazz Band Ignore and the British New Wave Band Attrition.

Today, Lucie Dehli comes out with her new album HOMAM as a solo musician, bringing us even closer to her meaningful themes, traveling between introspection and lightness. She combines her classical background with her experimental creativity to weave links between the different Gnostic currents throughout the world.
HOMAM (also known as yajna or havan) is a process of invoking a sacred fire with intentions of cleansing one’s self (material and spiritual), and the environment.
More than a classic album, HOMAM is an in-depth journey that should be listened to on headphones to tap into its multiple resources.
The music is a celebration of the elements and energies through rituals from all over the world, such as the Japanese ritual of purification, Misogi.
And a celebration of the femininity through the Great Queen of the sea, Morrigan. On the tracks Misogi and Nyu you get to appreciate the Cello of Jo Quail, an internationally acclaimed composer and virtuoso cellist from London, UK. The two musicians share a long friendship and musical complicity. The last track of the album, Nyu (The fifth element) is dedicated to the powerful and moving voice of Jake Harding, Lucie’s alter ego on The Cartographer (composed and arranged by Jo Quail – 2021) a piece commissioned by the renowned Roadburn Festival, who hosted its premiere performance in April 2022 at the 013 venue in Tilburg. Emile Bombard (Tin Can Soul) no other than Lucie’s son, is guest guitarist on The Sylph and the Lion.
Lee Lebens, who already collaborated with Lucie on Elephant Leaf, appears on this album as a guitarist on Nyu (The fifth element) and most of all as the sound engineer and co-producer of most of the tracks of the album. Lee will be also Lucie’s partner on stage to perform the album.
